Job Description:
  • Recruits exempt/nonexempt personnel; conducts and coordinates search activities; maintains relationships with key connections within the community such as staffing agencies and college career centers; interviews and recommends applicants to supervisor/manager for employment; provides guidance to managers regarding interviewing/selection techniques to identify the best fit for position; tracks and maintains recruiting metrics and develops appropriate strategies; attends conferences and/or job fairs to build connections within the work comp industry; proactively reaches out to new hires to ensure a successful on-boarding experience and responsible for all applicant reporting and recordkeeping
 
  • Builds rapport with employees by answering questions relating to company benefits, policies/procedures, general concerns, etc. and brings difficult or serious problems to HR management for resolution
 
  • Administers and tracks Leave of Absence requests including FMLA; meets with employees to educate them on leave policies and FMLA guidelines. Initiates appropriate paperwork and files claims for STD benefits. Maintains intermittent files and educates management on appropriate use of FMLA. 
 
  • Conducts exit interviews; collects and analyzes exit data; recommends solutions to reduce turnover and retain key employees
 
  • Proactively builds ongoing relationships with managers and business unit leaders then consults with HR management to determine needs and priorities
 
  • Suggests revisions and additions to policies and procedures, as they relate to the HR function and, at direction of HR management, writes new/revised policies and procedures as requested. Also, conducts Human Resources research on topics of interest to management and to support business objectives
 
  • Keeps abreast of advances and developments in the field for Human Resources, as well as applicable state and federal regulations governing HR administration, compensation, benefits, and employment law
 
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business. Major in human resources management, organizational development or labor relations preferred, and/or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
 
  • 4-6 years experience in the H.R. function with exceptionally strong Recruiting background
 
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and judgment skills
 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws regarding employment practices
 
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet PC software. (Prefer Microsoft Word and Excel)
 
  • Knowledge of ADP payroll and benefits products a plus. (Pay eXpert, HR Benefits and EzLabor time system)
